Sand Volleyball Training is unlike any other volleyball training. Whether or not you or your child plans to play sand doubles, sand training will help refine a player's skills at a much greater pace. Sand training helps to develop the overall volleyball athlete and not just the positional player. Players will learn and understand all aspects of the game, therefore increasing their volleyball IQ of the game. Sand Volleyball trained athletes should expect to refine their muscle memory and explosion as well as visual stimulation that occurs with reading both hitters and servers. This translates to the player’s indoor game by quickening their reaction times and a better understanding of hitter’s placements for increased defensive positioning. Additionally, Sand Volleyball Training helps with the player’s agility, footwork, increases their vertical jump and refines the athlete’s ball control.
We recognize that each player (and their families) have different commitments and/or travel plans for the summer months as well as unique training goals and varying budgets. For this reason, we have three (3) different Summer Sand programs for players interested in Sand Training to choose from.
OPTION 1: Sand Camp
Sand Camps are a great way for a player to be introduced to the sand game. This camp is designed for those not familiar with the outdoor game and/or the sand rules. It is a wonderful option for those who want to ensure their player likes the sand before committing to a more expensive training/travel team. Campers will meet 1 Day/Week during June.

Option 2: Non-Travel Sand Training (14+ ONLY)
The Non-Travel Sand Training program is a perfect option for the more advanced player (14+) who wants all of the benefits that sand training offers without having to commit to a summer Travel Team schedule. This option is for the player that wants to learn more about the tactical side of the beach game. Players will be introduced to more in-depth drills and strategies than the one day camps can/will offer.
Non-Travel Sand Participants will train for two days/week during the months of June and July for a total of 6 weeks (12/2 hour practices). Practices begin on June 7, 2021 and conclude July 22, 2021. (No practices the week of July 4th - 9th).

OPTION 3: Beach/Sand Travel Teams
Beach/Sand Travel Teams are designed for the player that desires to take their game to the next level perhaps even desires to play in college. Players need to be committed to traveling to 4 - 7 tournaments during the summer months.

As the benefits of sand training work to better the athlete's indoor game, the sand game and the indoor game of volleyball are coached (and played) differently. To maximize the athlete's time, skill, and sessions, players should look for a coach that understands, and has a history with, both indoor volleyball and sand volleyball.
